System Combat Techniques

The following is a non-exhaustive range of techniques taken from the ESDCS system. As you will see, the system differs from many traditional arts in that many concepts (old and new) have been blended together to maximise effectiveness at all ranges. Whilst the system focuses primarily at closing distance and fighting at mid range (knee and elbow/ clinch range) The creator has acknowledged that this may not always be possible, and therefore long range kicks and punches, throws and trips, as well as groundwork (strikes and submissions) and the mentality with which they are delivered are all addressed within the system.

It is important to recognise that this is not a martial art in its truest sense, i.e form is secondary to effectiveness, and also that there are no "banned" techniques - with eye gouging and biting included, although clearly to be reserved for only the most serious self defence applications.

Most importantly of all, this is an evolving style - growing through the experience of its instructor and students. All are encouraged to contribute, to deconstruct techniques and find new methods of applying the basic principles of the system, and most unlike traditional arts - what works for them as an individual.

All the above being said, ESDCS still has its roots firmly in the traditional arts and is proud of its heritage having decended from Ju Jutsu, Karate, Aikido and CQB from the british army as well as many other arts the founder has studied and been influenced by. I feel (and hope!) that these few photographs will give you some small insight into the  system of ESDCS and give you the inclination to find out more. Should you have any questions or comments regarding the system, please feel free to contact us via the details found on this site.
